Im making a super basic board for now until I make a more serious, road-worthy one. This has cost me R140 so far. Gonna use some old varnish on it, buy some longer screws and get some velcro tomorrow. Here it is so far: I think it'll be decent enough for now? Like 2-3 months max?

Great board (so far... ?)! Given the guitars and the styles of music you play, tremolo makes sense. I don't see much need for the extra reverb unless you leave the Blue Sky set for Shimmer and use the Flint's reverb as your standard reverb.

Well, I really love the sound of that tremolo too... every time I play with tremolo I ask myself "WHY DON'T I HAVE A TREMOLO PEDAL?".

My dad is actually building me a bigger board (I'll get the voodoo labs PSU for that one), so when that comes to fruition I'll definitely have the space, but right now, in low season, I DON'T have the cash for ANYTHING else... But I think 3 Strymons would sit pretty on the board ?

I know that it's powered with an 18v 1000ma PSU and I'm using 6 of the 7 available 9v outputs. I assume that I'm fine for now but will have issues the second that 1000ma capacity is filled? (I'm not savvy with regards to electrical things in the slightest)

To be honest, it's not all that. The supply might be 1A in total, but the regulated 9V outputs can only put out 375ma in total (they are all powered off the same regulator and are not individually isolated or regulated). The other 625 ma goes to the 18V outputs. So you are probably already stressing it just with the two Strymons (although your other pedals are all pretty low current draw).

In my experience you are more likely to blow things with low current and voltage than with high current, So I'd say you should be running one of the Strymons off it's own power supply. I'd guess you are getting a limited headroom from the Strymons and if you run across a venue with a low mains supply, they might not even work.

I'll get a quote on a VLabs PSU or a Fuel Tank ASAP then.

I dont see how they limit the current to different levels on the 9V and 18V? Its an 18V 1000mA in, which feeds a switchmode power regulator for 9V. If nothing is on the 18V outputs, then I dont really see why the 9V can't supply virtually the full 1000mA?

I can't comment as we've gone a bit beyond my knowledge already - I'm not clued up on switched-mode regulation. I do know Dunlop do give 375ma as the maximum current on the 9V rail, so I would be leery of exceeding that unless it is proven otherwise.

Well, I'll keep the dunlop brick for my lower power requirement pedals and buy another for all the other stuff that'd need power.

I'll look at the T-REX and Vlabs ones.

Shot! It's a friends... I still owe him for it. Really must make some money to pay him!

Well, the Strymon's are 250ma each and after checking out my other pedals, they're all VERY low draw and I rarely have more than 3 pedals on at a time, my max is 3. I've not had any issues so far!
