Line Out Question

I have a Vox Pathfinder 15R and a Fender FM 212R and I'm wanting to Line-out from the Pathfinder into the Frontman. First of all, is this possible? How would I go about this?

Vox's Line-out into the Frontman's Poweramp Input?
Or would it be better to split the signal from my guitar using the wet and dry outputs of my Ibanez DE-7 delay pedal or an ABY pedal ?

I'm pretty clueless when it comes to this stuff so any help will be greatly appreciated.

You could do what you suggested, but you may not like the outcome. Try it, no harm can come from it.

The fact is, inputs on guitar amps are designed for guitar signals, not line level signals. There are differences in input impedance of a line in and a guitar in and the fender amplifier won't have been designed for a line level signal so ultimately the characteristics of your sound as if it were being plugged into a line in won't be retained. But yeah, try it.

It's also important to know what you want to do here, is it just that you want to be able to hear both amps? Or use the FM as another monitor? Or plug in to each and do different things with each in terms of effects etc?

It would be the best to have an ABY, so you have complete control. If you're not bothered about that, get a normal 1x 6.35 jack to 2 x 6.35 jack splitter. You should be able to find one relatively easy from electronics stores etc.

Sorry I should have been more specific with what I want to achieve with this. I bascially want to use the FM as a cab. But I think I will most probably try get my hands on an ABY pedal anyways as it will allow me more options.

That's the ticket, IMO. Will be a louder version of the Vox' sound (more or less).

That's something else again, but try it, you might like it.

Thanks Alan. Thats pretty much what I was hoping for. ?

I think I'll probably try both and see which sounds better.
