Dingwall
When I bought my Cornford I went down the logic of choosing a single channel hand wired low watt (20w) amp that I can turn up full blast to get the best sound in the pub/club size venues I play in. And tone is important to me!
BUT I have never found that it gives me that 'big' pumped valve sound that I was hoping for. It just gets loud and nasty rather than big and ballsy! So I have put it down to the fact that a 1 x 12 amp just doesn't give me the spread of sound (power/head room) I personally desire! Actually I played a marshall stack recently and was blown away by the 'size' of my sound, at reasonable volumes!
So with a limited budget I am now considering trading in the £1300 Cornford for a £700 Blackstar HT60 (2x12)! (tried the HT60 and was very impressed)
And I need someone to say "yes, do it" or to give me some words of wisdom to help with this decision (get an ext cab etc)!!
The other factor is that I am currently in a punk/rock covers band and figured the Blackstar would probably suite this concept better.
