I've been lurking the forums for a bit and I finally decided to make an account. It's more local than some of the other guitar forums, which is definitely a plus.

My guitar collection so far, in case anyone's curious:

1. Squier Bullet
2. (So far unidentified) Ibanez Gio
3. SX Vintage Strat
4. SX Les Paul Copy
5. ESP LTD M-10
6. Epiphone LP Special II
7. Cort Acoustic
8. Shergold Modulator 1977 Bass
9. Ritmuller Classical

I'm saving up for something a bit more high end at the moment before I take on music more professionally. Will see exactly what, but I'm hoping I'll have enough cash for a strat soon.

Any questions? Just ask! ?
    Welcome.

Seems like you could sell a bunch of those budget guitars and have enough for your Strat already if you wanted.

Indeed, but I hate getting rid of guitars because I always seem to regret it a few months down the line. I might sell one of them if I really can't get the cash together, but I'm trying to avoid that. For now, I have a Behringer Bass V-Amp Pro that I'm trying to sell first.

                    Welcome dude!!
Fewer guitars means fewer string changes ? Also, once you have a real nice one, you will become less attached to the others, at least the ones that do not have sentimental value.

If I manage to scrape cash together I should have enough for an MIM Strat at best. Another possible future project is taking another SX Strat and fitting it with Tonerider pickups, which I think could turn out nicely.

Amen on that one. But then again I have three really nice guitars and the one that I prefer is the one that cost me R1000. Well that was before a serious re-wire and pup change.

                          Welcome btw......
