MY blackstar ht-5 has a very slight popping sound when i switch from the drive channel back to the clean channel with my footswitch. Now this is not so much problem until I have my delay, which in the effects loop, engaged or n reverb effect. That's when the popping gets amplified and delayed and I duck and hide in shame. What could be causing this popping sound?
Channel switch popping - Blackstar HT-5
That volume swell in the loop when switching to clean is a well-discussed topic on the forums. I think all the older (10" models) HT5s do that, mine included.MNM7 wrote: MY blackstar ht-5 has a very slight popping sound when i switch from the drive channel back to the clean channel with my footswitch. IINM, lack of or faulty capacitor across the two signal paths being switched. Often at the jack for the footswitch, unless it is relay switched - then it's across the relay.MNM7 wrote: What could be causing this popping sound?
So I check footswitch? or jack port for FS on amp?Alan Ratcliffe wrote:IINM, lack of or faulty capacitor across the two signal paths being switched. Often at the jack for the footswitch, unless it is relay switched - then it's across the relay.MNM7 wrote: What could be causing this popping sound?

So I contacted Blackstar and they told me that it was an issue with the older 110 model. They told me that I require a component update and that it should fix the problem. Now they gave me the name of the distributor here in SA and told me I should contact them and that they could help me. Now I contacted the distributor and it's now 3 weeks later and I haven't heard anything from them. So now I'm turning to the forum. Does anybody know about this component update and what it entails?
I would ask on the blackstar forum: http://blackstaramps.forumotion.com/
I recall they discussed it there a bit.
