hi guys,

i want to build an SS amp for use (right now) as a small sound system for my room, but later will be functional as an amp to power studio monitors. does anyone have any suggestions/schematics? it'll be using line level input for the moment and driving a pair of 4ohm behringer monitors.

cheers.
look here: free designs, top notch quality, and on this forum you can find tons of information. I've got a few unobtainium parts for F4 amp lying around if you want...

      Build an LM3886 gain clone. 68W RMS per channel. Signal-to-Noise Ratio ≥ 92dB. 0.1% THD+N from 20Hz–20kHz.

You can buy modules already assembled from RSE electronics in Jhb. It's R400 for a stereo module. All you need to do is build a power supply. You'll be able to buy all the parts necessary for the power at RSE electronics too. Then mount it on a plankie or put it in an enclosure.
        Definitely support the gainclone approach.

I've got one I'm now using as my main hifi amp.
        (displaced my NAD 3225PE)

And I've got an order of 4 cheap kits arriving from Hong Kong sometime soon.

I may have accidentally traded that chassis with our resident artist ...
