Sean Had a great time hey. Was good meeting Warren and deefstes for the first time. Enjoyed all sets. Ilse will polish the photos a bit and I'll post them when I get home this evening.
Warren Nice evening last night. Well done to Deeftes, has a great voice and put it to good use. The Weird Al song was excellent! ? Everybody was fun to listen to. Great to meet Sean and Ilse!
aubs1 Like the others said...... really cool acoustic evening....... makes me need to get my Takamine (and/or Elis' Taylor) acoustic dusted, and put to some use ..... Well done all those who performed. Enjoyed Brendans' "Pink Floyd" set, and was pleasantly surprised by Dewalds' (Deefstes') vocal range..... awesome Deefstes....when you got to the chorus of "I started a joke", I sat up and thought....oh hell, that's high, is he gonna make it, but geez, you pulled it off effortlessly! Man, all you need is a backing band! Nice company Sean, Ilse, Warren, Kresha and Dave (Squonk) ...... @Bob and FingerPicker, brilliant sound and organizing ...... :applause:

deefstes Jeepers, thanks guys, you're too kind. I will say, I had barrels of fun. As the guitar playing is concerned I botched a few of the phrases that relied on more intricate finger work which was massively frustrating considering that I've practised it over and over and over (and over) until I could play it flawlessly. But that's stage fright for ya. :? Thanks though for the nice cheers that emanated from the GFSA table. It certainly went a long way towards calming the nerves. It was great to get to meet Sean and Ilse (who made the trek all the way from Sasolburg!!!). I'd love to see some of Ilse's pics. I have some video clips (with the typical bad sound quality of point and shoot cameras) and will put it up some time. Also nice to catch up with some other GFSA'ers again. I'm really enjoying this crowd (both online and in real life). Next up (1 March) is Squonk's turn. I'll be there.

Besides, there are more to the team than that, but most of them don't have a presence on GFSA. We've been trying to get things running more smoothly, and last night we were nearly victims of our own success as the show got ahead of schedule. ? LOL. Luckily I'd asked some of the performers to have some extra material ready.
Sean Just a few shots for now, arrived home and not sure where Ilse is, but found these and I'm gonna post em ? I think everyone on the forum knows Bob pretty well by now ? Deefstes, as has been mentioned, doing a great set. Dot & Tamaryn Hodgskiss Brendon Etienne Moorcroft John & Janet van Nierop Tom Howden (who at one stage stopped in the middle of a song and looked straight at Ilse who was standing next to him) ? The okes at the GFSA Table, Warren with his fiancé Kresha, Squonk, Aubs and myself
deefstes Wow. Magnificent shots there! Seriously impressed. Maybe just put some names with them for the benefit of the GFSA'ers who weren't there.

Bob-Dubery Aubs1 wrote Hey Sean, Ilses' pics are seriously awesome!!! Brilliant! + several. I've seen Ilse's work before, and when I found out that she was going to be at TJ's I was very keen for her to bring her camera.

Yeah, I like the way her tasteful vignetting draws attention from your footwear. ? Looks awesome. Really hoping to get to one of these sometime.
