Well perhaps
if you are able to see who made those those double votes you could pull them? It's not a big deal....just sayin'.
I know the competitions or challenges are meant to be more about participation and fun, and are designed to try attract participants rather than turn them away.
Having said that........ ?............ competitiveness will often shine through with most people, at the very least be lurking silently under the tension of a coiled spring temporarily locked in fully compressed mode. Even if it is just friendly or light hearted competitiveness........most people like to win. The desire to win is deeply ingrained in us from childhood on up.
Because of this and other reasons, the voting and categories might should be addressed in the future to try and retain the original idea of the challenges. To keep it fun and at least reduce the possibility of voting manipulation. There seems to have been a fair amount of comments lately regarding voting and the ability level categories........ and while I know Rene said to not get all tweaked about it during this last one, at the appropriate time it might be a good idea to revisit them.
I thought the suggestion to hide the results of the voting until voting closed, was the best one yet and for some reason
I thought we were going to do it this challenge.
It is good in that it reduces the chances of skewed voting......either for or against anyone. Again, I know it is meant to be pure fun and the enjoyment of challenging yourself to put in an entry....to go through the process of "composing" a short piece, developing it, recording and mixing it and then having the courage to put it up for others to hear and vote on. It can be daunting really, but is good for a person on so many levels.
But the fact that people can double vote, possibly even vote for themselves (?) along with seeing the results as they play out so they can vote a certain way........... it kinda takes the fun aspect out of it because it opens it up for voting manipulation. I don't know
how the voting is
supposed to work, the original concept of it......but I would hate to win or tie for 1st
just because I was the only Advanced entry and if we are encouraged to vote for each category. I'm sure anyone would feel the same. Besides, I believe that overall
Adrian's effort is the most authentic reggae of all of our entries and deserves the win here. But perhaps we can collectively look for a different way to do it and put it up for Rene or Alan, whoever, to approve or deny it.
Just my 2c.
