The advancing Excelsior looks intriguing. The front of that cab probably won't go down as the greatest innovation in acoustic efficiency, but it looks stellar.. Also note the unconventional placement of transformers on the floor of the amp. They could have been a little bit more creative with the branding IMO, but I think this amp looks very cool. Thumbs up for the Fender ?arty:.

Those designers ar'nt silly, "The front of that cab" layout may be to eliminate excess mids to make the speaker more efficient or something. Speaker cabinet design is a very precise science.

I would hope they're not silly, but I guess the Gibson Firebolt 20 Million X-Thousand's of the guitar manufacturers of the world have made me skeptical. And you're right, can't believe I didn't think of that ?.

      ?

It 'may'.. But then again, it 'may' have just been those industrial designer creatures (who seem to be running most shows nowadays - one can't even buy a house fan thats function hasn't been compromised by the designers need for sleek elegance) NOI ?. But - we will never know..

You have to face it though, it looks very retro-cool.

What a gorgeous amp!! Nicely styled. I love when designs inspire me to build ?

I disagree. Specifically in terms of guitars. Hi-fi etc, yes, but not guitars.
