While searching in different locations, I stumbled across:

http://www.trinityamps.com/

I've been in contact with Stephen (owner) and he mentioned that he can save us some money on the kit and shipping?

I want to order the 18W plexi soon and wondered if anyone else would be interested in a DIY kit? Looks like good quality parts in the kit as well

Cheers

id love to but that price is hefty... then there s shipping and customs duty on top of that? looking at R10k or so... or did I miss something?
I have checked the prices quickly:

Complete amp kit, including the trannies (Heyboer), including shipment = 610USD (R4889)

      Tubes from Tube Depot: 2xEL84 @ 28USDea, 3x12AX7 @ 9.95USDea = 86USD (R689)

I don't know what surprise custom duty will have in store?

Also, it would be interesting to build my own head cabinet as its not included in the kit.

        Edit:

        Tubes from Tube Depot: 2xEL84 A 28USD/pair, 3x12AX7 @ 9.95USDea = 57.85USD (R463)
Have you checked with Karel Mars on the Forum for 18W kits... last time I checked he was selling them for 4k +-
Karel sells kits imported from china (most recently that I have seen).

These have Heyboer transformers which are pretty cool.

The price isn't too bad. It's almost idiotproof as a kit like that, so you pay for that too.
The TC-15 seems awesome! Vox/Matchless inspired! And only $390 plus shipping! Maybe when I'm in Aussie!

                Trinity is in Canadia.

I spoke with Stephen too when I was looking around for kits and parts. Trinity kits are top grade everything, basically you cannot build a better quality 18 watt amp than doing so with a Trinity kit. The kit comes with a fully illustrated guide too, so its pretty easy (like Mike said). However, all that comes at a price.

The shipping from Canada to South Africa is ENORMOUS. I asked. And then you still need a cabinet. Combo cabinets for these 1974x style amps are R4k a shot, made locally or imported, you choose.

Speak to Bottledtone (aka Benji from Nelspruit) bout a kit - illinois capacitors and all the other good stuff too
Did a little demo video with Bottledtone last night using the Brit 15r. I will try to finish it and post it soonest. At least you will be able to hear and see the quality of his workmanship.
                      Thanks guys

                      I will give him a call :?

Shipping price (from overseas) could be a problem ☹. Rather spend that money on better quality parts
