This looks promising! Thoughts? I've only played on a XD for a short bit once, but I liked it!

I'm planning on purchasing an amp in the 15 watt range sometime this year and I'm specifically looking for something running 6v6s. I actually know what I want, but Princeton Reverbs are too expensive, so I'm trying to find something that gives me something similar.
Nice! The speakers were always the limiting factor with the XDs, so a head and 12" cab make a lot of sense. Takes the XD from being a cool practice amp to something you could happily gig with.

I'm not quite sure of the closed back cab with Celestion speaker though. While it probably works well as an all-rounder on all the different tones the XD can produce, it'll likely be a little bit of a trade off for some specific tones (like the vintage Fendery tones I use). Easy enough to use with different cabs for different applications though.

It does come in a combo version too (which is open back obviously), but with a 12" I think I'd prefer a head and cab. A diy cab with a nice weber speaker is also an option! ?
Go for the 12" for sure!! The only thing that I don't like about my Champ is the 10.
Otherwise they're lovely to jam around with and gig with too.

I misread and thought that both the combo and head / cab version came with a 12"...

If the head is priced at $399, what can we expect to pay here?

Around 8 thousand rand i guess .......Fender seem to like pricing their amps at 20 rand to the dollar >☹
What neat little amp!! Would put chrome corners on though.
              Sorry for pointless comment ?
Damn I hope it's not R8k.... if I'm not mistaken the list price for the Fender is the same as the Ibanez TS head... I would gladly pay between R3k and R4k for the Fender head.

The combo after discount is going to run at around 4500 ...the head an cab i reckon around 6k
There's a review of it in the latest Guitarist.
Interesting little amp and if the combo XD is anything to go by, this should be lots of bang/buck.
