I got a new guitar with double lock sistem, which they said was the best sistem. However, I find it very difficult to tune my guitar and when I have to unlock the guitar it takes a lot of time. Also when a string is broken, it is very hard to change it. I'm always affraid a string will brake during the a concert...
What is the deal with double lock??
I'm not sure who told you it's the best system...
It's the best if you're doing a lot of whammy stuff (loads and loads), but it's an absolute monster for anything else. 'Tis the way all the floating bridges are...

if youre using a floyded guit at shows, take a backup in caseof string breakage.619digas619 wrote: I got a new guitar with double lock sistem, which they said was the best sistem. Double locking trems rule for what they do best - staying in tune under the heaviest whammy abuse. However, as you have discovered, they are a lot trickier to do any setup or maintenance to and, as Guido pointed out, you ideally need a whole other guitar as a backup for gigs. They tend to be heavy on the strings too.
You can also learn to do string changes and setups pretty quickly if you learn how to do it properly. But sometimes it's better to go for a normal trem and ease up on the whammying or skip the issue entirely by going hardtail (fixed bridge).

I've had double locking and for quick tune ups and downs it sucks...............hardtail and a foot tuner all the way baby.........
is that before after youve paid for your 5 mins? ?
Yes. Change the string that broke, touch nothing else. Once you've tuned that string its generally all good again. My Jackson is a Floyd Rose. I learnt to change strings on that thing pretty quickly. As Guido pimp daddy pointed out, Always take a backup even if you play static bridge.
damn spell check..........I'm never gonna live that one down.guidothepimmp wrote: is that before after youve paid for your 5 mins? ?
