I am looking to build up a cheapish strat for someone and really need to do this as low cost as possible, but decent quality foundation ie body and neck. Does anyone know where I can get a lowish price beat up MIJ, MIM or even USA Strat. I have no problem if some parts etc are missing as long as the body and neck are in tact and original. I may consider an early Jap Squire as well.
Once I get something I will possibly look to expand the thread to include the build-up but I am not going to make it fancy or all nice and shiny.

You didn't mention the budget.. that might help some members decide if they're willing to flog the lesser loved strat the have lying in a dusty corner.. ?

I understand about stipulating a budget but I would rather see what comes up via "pm" as I am not looking at a pristine condition strat. And there are numerous stages of "beat up" and different values for Jap Squire, MiM, MIJ, MIA etc.
