PTA / Joburg Get-together

Mannoroth · 2011-11-29T09:16:39+00:00

Hi all, Would anyone be interesting in attending a get-together in Pta / Joburg area? I'm quite new to this forum so not sure whether this has been done before / how it is usually organised. Could be great to meet some of the guys / girls we havent already met, talk a bit of guitar and have a few beers. Please indicate if anyone would be interested and I will see if I can coordinate something. Im thinking not too late in December coz many people are going away, maybe a Saturday eve or something. ?

OK, enough banter. Is Mannoroth gonna sort thins or do we elect someone else?(excluding me, I'm a dictatorial bastard, everyone will hate me by the end)

So the venue just pulled a 360 even after going there and asking. Rather find a different venue as well.
Dude , thats a bit unfair .

Firstly ,

Its a business they're running there and its obviously better for them financially to have this weeks main event on this Thursday evening rather than their normal Friday evening .
In any case , its not like 368 of us were going to pitch up and make it worth their while :-\....looks to me only about 8 to 12 of us were going to pitch up anyway.

Secondly ,

It is a great venue and they are open every day and every evening 7 days a week. ( I phoned again to check ).
We can meet ,( for free !) , greet and eat there any time next year that suits most of us....

I also vote no. 3. and postpone this till next year when much more notice can be given and more GFSA members can come........ 8)

PS ....hopefully by that time seventhson will have a girl and a driving licence... ?

?If runing my own bussiness has taught me one thing, its 'Once bitten, twice shy'.

guidothepimmp

funny how between all us adults, we cant seem to arrange a pissup in a brewery...

the same venue is alright by me, it was hardly anyones fault the last time, short notice and all...

just needs a date picked and we're sorted.

Speaking of dates, hows Friday 3rd Feb?

Carry on

+1 I thought that the previous venue was pretty central for all...

Averatu

Cool.

NorioDS

I dig it ?

Dudes I'd be willing to organise again, but if I do I will have to be selfish and propose we do it a little later (Guido prosposed the 3rd, but I'll be in Cape Town then)

I think its kindoff important for the organiser to be there right? ? Unless someone else wants to take this one and I'll sit this round out.

Obviously I dont think we should start accomodating individual preferences too much, because whatever date we choose, it will suite some and not others, and we'll never reach an agreement...

Like Bob advised, put the thing together and stick to it.

This is like the three stooges in slo-mo ?

Happy bro, run with it I only proposed the date to get the ball rolling otherwise we'd still be talking about porcelain and daring each other to organize thisthing ?

OK so can I propose that we get some date suggestions? Manno, say some dates and let the other ouens chime in about what's good and not good and so forth. And then you call the shots and we see what happens. And everyone OK with Bluegum Manor just a block or so down the way from Teasers? Smacks of GFSA saamtrek afterparty.

10th of Feb is looking positive 8) !!! ?

We already got about 6 votes for the 10th, 2 or 3 more guys and I say we go for it!

LOL, this is too funny. I was one of the guys who voted for the 3rd. After I cast my vote I noticed that the 3rd was in a norrow lead to the 10th. Now there is only one vote for the 3rd so obviously the other must have changed their votes. No worries, I say go ahead with the thing. How many more votes do you need to arrange a get together? Six sounds enough. I just won't be ab;e to make the 10th though. Sorry.

Hey dude, I didnt realise people could change their votes, but I agree - 6 should be enough, think we must go ahead, see how it goes - pity you can't make it though, is there no way you can swing by?
