PTA / Joburg Get-together

Mannoroth · 2011-11-29T09:16:39+00:00

Hi all, Would anyone be interesting in attending a get-together in Pta / Joburg area? I'm quite new to this forum so not sure whether this has been done before / how it is usually organised. Could be great to meet some of the guys / girls we havent already met, talk a bit of guitar and have a few beers. Please indicate if anyone would be interested and I will see if I can coordinate something. Im thinking not too late in December coz many people are going away, maybe a Saturday eve or something. ?

I believe this is a done deal.

Sending Norio a reminder on Thursday to stick it in his newsletter..

im there like a fly on ???

ermm.. I'll be there, not in an elvis outfit (so you cats dont confuse me with Mannoroth) >☹

Neon-Gecko

yep, count me in too... ?

Looks like we're going to cricket in Centurion on that day. So, for me, it's dependant on other things: What time play finishes, how quickly we can get out the ground and how Mrs X-rated is feeling. So I'll get there if circumstances permit, but can't commit.

? Yeah I am also going to Supersport Park for test match... Going to be there on day 1 as well ?

Get together is @ 7, but its cool if you can make it for a little bit later.. Dont do too much beer and sun - it wil sap your energy!

Mrs X-rated has had one knee replacement & may need another. Which is why she might not be feeling like doing more than getting home & putting feet up.

That sucks, I can relate.. I've had about 3 knee op's myself, I've been dodging the actual knee replacement for years 8)

We wish Ms. X-Rated a swift recovery ?

IceCreamMan

Well now Bob. If you gonna pitch alone there's a great little spot just a few blocks north for an after party.

Lots statement? Being rhetorical?

So guys I'm going to need a lift for this. Anyone that will be able to help out ?

Mannoroth

Hey man, thanks for notifying... this is rather unfortunate - guess I'll just go lock myself in my room and listen to metal repeatedly ?

Unfortunately I can't do Thursd - you could test the feeling amongst the other guys?

I suggest 3 alternatives:

1) Move to Thursday (Dunno how many people would be able to adapt their plans on short notice, many are still working)

2) Change venue and keep date as is

3) Postpone till later..

Perhaps we could do a quick informal vote for all who are interested? I'd go with option 3 - I think last minute change in plans will reduce our attendance greatly?

Squonk

I vote number 3

I am busy on Friday, so it suits me very lekker

deefstes

I also vote nuber 3. I was never going to be able to make it for this weekend so I wouldn't mind if it gets postponed to a date tht I can make.

Neon-Gecko

I can make Thursday, but I'd rather have a good turn-out. So if it means moving it to a later date for that reason I'd rather go with that...

guidothepimmp

>☹

Yeh agreed with Gecko, I can also make Thursday if the turnout is good, if the turnout isn't great due to short notice then maybe option 3 is the way to go.. :-[

Any indication yet what the numbers might be?

NorioDS

If this turns out to be a bomb, can someone please email me to let me know so I can send out a note in the newsletter. We have lurkers in there that don't frequent the forum. It would be quite blind if they pitched and the place is closed ?

NorioDS

PS: From my side, I'm more interested in the social gathering aspect of it so I'm happy to do Friday even if Mark's band isn't there.

Just my 2c.

(3) please. Friday was going to be tight for me and Thursday is out of the question at such short notice.
