PTA / Joburg Get-together

Hi all, Would anyone be interesting in attending a get-together in Pta / Joburg area? I'm quite new to this forum so not sure whether this has been done before / how it is usually organised. Could be great to meet some of the guys / girls we havent already met, talk a bit of guitar and have a few beers. Please indicate if anyone would be interested and I will see if I can coordinate something. Im thinking not too late in December coz many people are going away, maybe a Saturday eve or something. ?

But that shouldn't affect whether we put together another get-together altogether. I know there has been acoustic get-togethers in the past where forumites spent a day playing guitar. I haven't been to any of those but they looked like fun. Maybe we should arrange something like that again or even an electric day - to be hosted at some forumites house who's neighbours wouldn't mind the noise.

+1 to Joe. I reckon a get-together, meet eachother, sink some suds, shoot the breeze and see wots what. Once friendships are formed then a mass jam-session for later on, me thinks... :-\

9th is cool for me, but the 16th's our wedding anniversary... Maybe I can swing it as part of our plans, wonder if my wife will buy into it ???

We can each make our own name tags with real name and nickname pinned to our shirts , methinks ?

So we have a venue , food , drink , a great band and a real pro-guitarist we can chat to ..........all we need to do is select a friday night.
Who's in for either the 9th or 16th of December ?....he's off till January after that.

In your case we'll just look for the guy with the ink on his fingers.

Okay fellas, here we go - I started this so let me follow Bob's advice and put this thing together so that it may materialise:

GFSA JOBURG GET-TOGETHER

Date & Time: Friday 16th December 19h00 - late

Venue: Gumtree Manor as suggested by Joe (please supply directions dude! ?)

Proceedings:Meet and Greet, food and drink on own account (All welcome). Not theme specific, there will be a variety of age, gender, race and musical interests - I’m sure the diversity will only make it more interesting. Let’s respect each other like we do on this forum.

Identification: Please wear nametag with forum nick.

Transport: If there are people with transport problems please post here, I’m sure the guys will help each other out, the venue is very central.

Kindly PM me if you have any questions about the legitimacy of this get-together ?! Also feel free to do so for any suggestions.

Please also assist in notifying and reminding other forumites about the event! The 16th of Dec is hopefully far enough away for most guys to arrange accordingly.

Hey guys, this looks good. Will the organisers of events like this please email me each week about the date, time & venue of an event so it can go out in the newsletter? This one can go out next Friday if someone will just email me the info so I don't forget to add it.
