I've been getting stuff together for a stratocaster. Actually just the pickups and the body and I want to get some of the hardware now. I'm a bit in the dark here as to what tremelo bridge setup I should get. I was thinking a hardtail job would be suitable but then again I could always just block up a tremelo bridge I guess. So, wondering around I've been finding all sorts of sites selling this stuff viz. StewMac, Warmoth, Allparts, Guitarfetish. Can anyone tell me where they bought their hardware and what the experience was like please? I bought some hardware for a telecaster from StewMac before and that was fine. Just not sure if there are better options. Maybe locally? To tell you the truth I am no0t even sure which trem to get so a bit of guidance here would be appreciated as well. Thanks.
Guitar hardware
Check out http://www.wdmusic.com/ they've got a wide range of Fender hardware as well as other manufacturers' kit... it's a site I can browse for days. I haven't, as yet, actually ordered anything off them but I have made several email enquiries that are usually responded to within 24 hours. I will be placing an order with them, probably in Jan, for some items including a Strat pick guard, some no-load tone pots and some other sundries.
Yip, I checked them but maybe I'm missing something becasue they look hellish more expensive than the other sites.

Under "Parts & Hardware". The top twelve are the ones I use most.
WD and Allparts are both expensive, but best for finding everything at one place and do stock some stuff that no-one else does.

Ha! You know, I knew there was a list like that somewhere and should have scouted around - thanks.
Hey Alan, great list. You wouldn't happen to know of a reputable SA-based outfit that can refinish electric guitar bodies in nitrocellulose?Alan Ratcliffe wrote: http://www.guitarforum.co.za/guitar-sites/alan%27s-guitar-effect-and-amp-building-link-list/

Ray, I can definitely recommend the Wilkinson tailpieces. They do some great, high quality takes on the basic Stratocaster Vibrato. Attractive and immensely functional.
Yip, I've been looking at this one but there is another model so not quite sure. This is pretty affordable though hey.
