nicovlogg Played a gig at Alexander Theatre 2 nights ago, opening for the Kongos. Here's what it sounds like. Something has definitely changed on the twang aspect of the guitar. It's hard to describe, but it now has a deep, solid twang. Overall it sounds a lot less "plinky" than it used to - this is also due to the new pickups of course. Not sure how much is the tighter neck joint and how much is the tone block, but sustain seems to have increased. On another note, if anybody wants custom pickups wound, do not be shy to contact Mike Reilander. The P90 he wound me sounds FANTASTIC. Fat, with clarity and a nice solid bass to it. Perfect! ? The bridge pickup, which is by Zhangbuckers, is cool too. Maybe a little too weak to be paired with a P90, but that was what I asked for. Great tele tone on there with a bit more punch. ?
