Will update thread with some more shots, editing now ?

As usual with my threads, click the picture for a larger image (2x the size).
Excuse the glamorous blanket popping out underneath the front ?

      Indeed we do !

And NOW I understand Mike's interest in the "blonde circuit" or brownface era..... ?

      Congrats Mike... a super find...WOW ! :goodtimes:

[If you're not entirely happy with it (which is unlikely)....send it off to Stellenbosch ? ]
Yes Vic ? Oddly enough I have always been interested in these. I had a very long message typed out in your thread about how interesting the circuit is, particularly the trem. I have wanted one of these for a long while and am super happy!

The only issue is that the transformers are not original. I plan to replace them eventually with something as close to spec as I can find, starting with the OT which will include an 8ohm tap. This is a 6G9-B circuit (That's pre July Vic ? ) and it wants to see a 4ohm load, so it sounds really rude with a 8ohm cab.

It also looks like it is running 5881s, might explain just how raunchy it is. Man this thing just drives so well. Love the tone so far.

And I need to make a HUGE shoutout to Keira for this one. Thanks a million for letting us know it was available. Glad I got to get this gem of an amp.
          killer pick up, mike!!!
you can take away your television and put that in its place because it is a beauty

          congrats
Still awesome....you'll get the correct trannies eventually. BTW:GFSA member Karel Mars winds trannies to spec if you're interested.....
What does the tube chart say about the year model. My guess is it's a '62 ....because of the maroonish grille cloth and circuit specs.
Is the tremolo still working ?

The trem is working, and is AMAZING Vic. It's one of those output tube bias ones?

All things point to it being a '63. I don't know about grill cloth though, maybe you could give me a better answer. If it is maroon that has faded, it could be a transitional between '62 and '63, this would actually be very likely as it looks like it is running 5881s... Haven't taken the back off to take a good look yet, don't plan to until I am on holiday ?

Sadly I haven't had the greatest experiences with Karel and will be looking offshore for accurate replacements. Mercury Magnetics prices make me sad.

According to this source, the head had wheat colour grill cloth (62-63). Yours looks to be faded maroon ? The circuit order was 6G9, 6G9-A, 6G9-B , so yes, that could point to a '63

All you need to do is to unscrew the back panel and peep to the right...you'll see the tube chart there ?
I have already checked the tube chart. And it says 6g9-b ? The grill cloth does look like faded maroon to me too, which makes me think it's transitional between '62 and '63.

                    OK...but there should also be a rubber-stamp-like code eg. N A or L F etc...

MG. Stupid Mike, do the normal way first.

Must have been one of the very last 6G9-Bs.

Looks like it's loaded with Mullard + RCAs ?

There's a sticker in what looks like German on inside this amp.. Seems like it may have traveled quite a bit.
glad you bought it and it's gone to someone who'll appreciate this old lady .......
