On a side note, are their high profile bands in SA? I never saw one
Sadly you feel that way, but in case you didnt know - Prime circle, just jinjer
parlotones , watershed and quite a few others have been high profile bands.
perhaps this lack of acknowledgement and support for out local artists are
some of the reasons our bands need to work extra hard to get up there and make a buck.
I'm also a Jew, I would buy from the store with the cheapest price.
Trust me I work hard at fighting for discounts wherever i buy however
Music mate PTA really really went so much further for me than anyone
else would (except but not as much for Anton from music connection)
that i cannot imagine spending my money much else where
and they are a smaller shop that cant always give me the absolute bottom cost price (but rather close i'd say).
No other shop had (or would) open for me at 8pm cos a sub blew and i need a replacement. they did. ? thats service my friend, and no better price
can make up for lack of service.
regardless, very few ppl in the industry get better and cheaper prices than me,
unless they are REALLY famous ?
Sheron ?
Agreed, Anton's one of the hardest working guys I've ever seen, the guys like a machine.
As for the shop that opened for you at 8pm, that's incredible service, they definitely deserve your money.
yes and thats only one of that kind of service i have been getting from them for years.
Anton too have helped me a lot, but I have not been dealing with him so long therefore i cannot give
him that kind of credit, but he is Awesome, yes ?
good service should go hand in hand with good ''costumering'', you need to be a good buyer too.
and going to a music store and sitting there just playing a guitar as loud and long as you want to
every second day for three years does not make you a costumer.
you need to know also to be a client, firstly of course is to spend you money there.
no shop will ever go far for you if you bought three plectrums and a cable.
and you need to be loyal too, and try spend most your money there and only
buy else where should they not have what ever it is you were looking for that day, like a guitar, that would
be a personal item bought mostly cos you connected with that certain instrument.
''bad salesman'' - most shops suffer from that epidemic I'm afraid.
many of those are muso's who cant make money in the biz and end up selling in a shop and hate the retail life.
one needs to love and respect his\her job, and if not then get out of there dude.
perhaps shops should pay commission only to those guys, see how quick the come around. or not.
