Cricket. Cough.

The Protea's old problem of not being able to clean up the tail rears it's head again. Oz's 8th wicket fell at 214. Now at drinks this morning they are 268/8. 54 runs with Peter Siddle at the crease and only Nathan Lyons still to bat. ☹ I reckon Oz are starting to feel like they got out of jail (or that Clarke got them out).

The lulling has worked perfectly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

15 for 5

GaryMac

IceCreamMan

turning into a farce eh

Insane. Never seen anything like this. How can Clarke score 150 yesterday and this morning and now it looks like its nine down for 21 (pending review)

GaryMac

47 all out.

All we need is 236 to win.

A doddle.........................................................

We let the Aussies off the hook there... could and should have got them out for a lot less than 47. But, I think I might have taken 47 all out if you had offered that to me at the start of their innings ?

GaryMac

I would point out that I am the only contributing to this post actually keeping this post on a guitar based footing.

My Tom Anderson Atom.

48 for 1.

Now if Biff can just keep his head..........................................

GaryMac

And the big toe on my right foot...................................................

GaryMac

81 for 1 at close of play and Amla dropped off the last ball of the day when he had a rush of blood to the head!!!!!!

All in all a fun day at Newlands.

And to close for the day:-

My PRS Custom 22 Artist Pack.

Tomorrow is another day.

fun day of cricket, hopefully Biff and the boys can hou kop and get those 155 little runs. anyway GaryMac you have some nice guitars, where did you get the Tom Andersons? I've been gassing for a Crowdster forever.

Bob-Dubery

OK.. So I stepped away from the computer. Y'all saw what happened next ?

Now the score is 111 and I'm keeping my feet off of the floor (as all of y'all should be doing). 9 balls on Nelson now. I'm getting cramp. I hope somebody gets a run soon.

Garth-S

111/1 at 11am on 11/11/11, thats an intense Nelson! 8)

And at 11:11 on 11/11/11 SA needed 111 to win

GaryMac

Pretty obvious that Bob hasnt spent much time in front of the computer this morning!!!!!

Bodes well for SA.

On a guitar note:-

Another Tom Anderson, this time a Hollow Drop Top in Koa with the "switcheroo" switching system.

To answer the question regarding the Andersons, this one I bought from Andy McGibbons and the Atom and the HDT T Classic I brought in from the US of A.

TOMS are awaiting delivery of 8 brand new Andersons but no Crowdsters unfortunatley.

Mannoroth

That was the most bizarre test match I have ever witnessed..

Bowling the Ausies out or 47 was sooooo sweeet!! I was raging when we were bowled out for 90 odd but will sleep much better tonight after 8 wicket win! 8)

GaryMac

Well we can all figure out what time Bob switched on the TV to watch the cricket yesterday.
Shortly before yet another Protea batting collapse!!!!!!
Its like Deja Vu all over again..................................................

Not me. I DID turn the car radio on though. Does that count?

I'm not that surprised. Wanderers. Overcast. The ball does stuff - nobody should be surprised. That said, some of them seemed to play like millionaires. AB and Prince both chucked away tons that were there for the taking. Kallis too.

Tell you what.... I think DRS is having a major impact. Batsmen know that a faint edge is going to get detected and they know that the odds are shifted as regards LBW calls. DRS helps the fielding side (if their judgement on when to invoke DRS is good) much more than the batting side, so the balance of the game is shifting.

Not that DRS made AB and Kallis play doff shots.

But no reason to get excited. It's day 1 of a Test match. Plenty of action still to come, and Oz innings is what will give the SA innings some context.
