Hey, fellow axe-slingers!

I've been a member of this awesome forum for a while now but haven't had much time to post so I've decided to take a moment to fix that ?

I've been playing guitar since I was about 12 years old (I'm 28 now) and prior to that, took formal piano lessons (which I hated, but they helped immensely in developing my ear and comprehension of music theory from day one) for 3 years.

My influences are Steve Morse, Zakk Wylde, Angus Young, Slash, Marty Friedman, Yngwe Malmsteen, Trey Azagthoth (Morbid Angel), John Petrucci, Tony Iommi, Paul Gilbert, Rusty Cooley, Guthrie Govan, the list goes on and on....

I've been into hard rock and metal for as long as I can remember, and learned to appreciate the blues maybe 5 years ago.

I think I've waffled enough now...

Cheers!
Ah, forgot to post my gear!!

Main axe: Epiphone Les Paul Standard, wine red with a SD Invader (amazing pickups!!) in the bridge position and a stock Alnico in the neck.
Amp: Peavey ValveKing 212 100w all-tube combo (currently out of action, seems the preamp has given up the ghost)
FX: Was previously a staunch advocate of good ol' stompboxes but recently replaced them all with a Vox Tonelab ST, great pedal!!
Strings: GHS Boomers 11-48 (no other strings come close to these suckers).
Well, there is a famous guitarist with your same surname. . . called Grant Green, also freaken phenomenal, although different genre altogether.

Welcome Welcome :? Good to have experienced hands on deck
Yea and some other random wannabe name Peter.

        Welcome to the forum!

You're right, try Rotosounds, they're way better!

Thanks a lot, bro! The name doesn't ring a bell, but I'll definitely check his work out, cheers!

Peter Green only became a wannabe after they got Stevie Nicks in the band...before that he rocked! ?

Hmmm, I'll have to see if my local music peddler stocks Rotosound, I have seen loads of ads for them in Guitar World and the like but I've never actually seen a pack lying around anywhere.
Welcome! Lived in Gonubi for a while... nice part of the world. Not many live venues though...
                Thanks guys!

Yeah, we are short on venues here and also people who actually support the venues that do exist. :-\
