Nitebob Sorry man, I was meaning to do before and after pics, but the dings were so minor the light would have to be just right to photograph...and I forgot...
kitaarpeer Random question...I know this will work on dings, how about where something sharp just broke the top clearcoat? Can this method be used as well?
AlanRatcliffe Yeah, if anything it works better. One caveat is colour - it's always clear (crystal - what they call "water white"), so if you have a chip out of a coloured or an aged finish which has yellowed, and want a really good match, you have to do some colour matching before you fill with CA. With polyester finishes it's about the only thing that stays in properly (although you will still get a bit of an edge where it transitions from finish to CA). On a proper lacquer finish, a laquer fill is still the best thing, as the new lacquer melts the existing lacquer and they blend to an almost invisible repair. I should also note that the CA you buy from supermarkets or street vendors is not "the good stuff" - the commonly available "super/crazy glue" is generally quite cloudy and weak (thanks to people using it for practical "jokes" like putting it on public toilet seats and even a few robberies where shop attendants had their hands glued to countertops).
