Time to get really guitar

So I went to music connection for the first time on Wednesday. Amazing place. The guitars just go on forever! My local music store only have about 15-20 guitars at a time and most are cheapies so it was pretty exiting for me. So anyway I was looking at the Fenders and I decided I just have to have one. A real USA Fender. Either a strat or a tele or maybe ever a jaguar! So Im looking for some advise about buying one. What to look for etc. because there seem to be so many different types of strats/teles with different prices. Ive been browsing guitarcenter to try get an idea. My budget wont allow me to go to R17,000 for fvlok's custom shop though. And should I get someone to bring me one from America? How much cheaper would it be? Edit : I know someone who go's over a lot so its easy to to get him to bring me one.

VAT, I believe. Shipping obviously. About $100 or a little more from what I understand. No duties on musical instruments.
