  • thinking of buying Divided By 13 Joyride Overdrive.. any suggestions?

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a pedal that can give me an nice overdrive tone through my Tube V3112 amp. Was intially thinking Ibanez TS9DX or maybe Zvex BoxOfRock.. but ended trying the 'divided by 13 Joyride' at a friend's place and was higly impressed.

Anyone out there own one of these? What are your thoughts on it? The good and the bad?

      Played it for 5 min. And yes.. i did like it.
        next thing is to take your guitar and amp back there and try it one those. If you still like it, buy one. Else don't. Most pedals sound similar anyway so it doesn't matter all that much in the end.
          A lot of muzo's would argue with u about the "Most pedals sound similar anyway".. but guess that's a discussion for another day. Anyways, I more interested in the owner's experience of the Joyride Pedal.
            Sis man.. taking it out on a newbie.
              Looking for that warm overdrive tone, but also want to get that dirty sound without too much distortion. Bands like pearl jam and red hot chilli peppers use it a lot.

              Smooth Overdrive is probably the best description.

                I can tell you that I won a ZVEX Box of Rock and without doubt it is the best pedal I have ever owned. It took the place of 3 overdrives on my board.Gives great tones. Makes any decent amp sound like a JCM 800 turned to 11. Highly recommended for a smooth overdrive and boost. I almost bought the Fuzz Factory today. It reacts really well to your picking dynamics and guitar volume so I find it best to crank it up ans roll back a little on the guitar volume. That's just my sweet spot.
                  Have you checked out the Fulltone OCD?
                  I would have bought one by now if it wasn't for their annoying export policy. There is one site that has permission to export fulltone, but the name eludes me. I ended up going with a Rothwell Hellbender, does the Marshall OD very nicely. I'll be sure to check the /13 as well, I thought they only did amps.

                    Yeah, guess you can't go wrong with ZVEX. i own a FuzzFactory... totally in love with it. Also had the BoxOfRock, but made a trade for the FuzzFactory, so now i'm left looking for something to fill the Overdrive GAP! Haha, it never ends.

                    Fulltone OCD is also pretty kick ass, like the option offered to switch between the LP and HP(pitch levels). Just strikes me more as a heavier distortion pedal. Maybe I associate it too much with the Zakk Wylde.
