I'm needing a new amp (a 15watt)..? help.

Ok so I've found a tiny terror head for R5000 and am wondering if its the right buy for me.. my thoughts are either the Orange TT or the Ibanez tsa15h. Any opinions? I'm looking to spend max R7000 and thats for the head and cab or combo. I really love the British overdrive tone and I barely ever use clean so the footswitch isnt to important to me.. what other brands offer decent 15watt tube amps?

The AD range is awsum, really, I have been using a AD30TC for about a year now, and as long as you can live without squeaky fender cleans, you'll be happy, it does the "on the edge of breakup" thing beautifully, but were it truly shines, is with some overdrive going... I love that amp...the chances that your going to find a AD15 are really low thou man...there kinda few and far apart...but yea

O and late entry, but maybe you should have a look at the Ampeg GVT15, 15watt switchebil to 7.5, effects loop en reverb...o and not to mention the glorious ampeg sound... ?

Music connection have a real sweet little Ampeg amp 20w if im not mistaken and has a cool tremolo as well - cant remember the model but i almost bought it a while ago - R6k if i can remember correctly!

Ampeg ;-20? has this blue and gray tolex? If I knew that, I would have bought one...a friend had one for a while, but he started playing drums and traded the amp for a kit...awsum amps...

I always thought ampeg was the bassist's brand.

I've built a TT clone for someone with a few component changes, and a "lower" wattage switch than the Orange itself.
That circuit really has a very good tone. Very "recogniseable" tone. Such a simple circuit to build, with few stages but gain levels are awesome. Can border on metal, and few adjustments back to clean. Much darker sounding on the lower wattage/voltage. The TT would be a good buy in my opinion ?

Bro how much would it cost about to build a clone of it? I'd really be keen to try! Does it get quite tight in the housing with the wires and bits or is the circuit pretty simple?

It would be a nice beginner circuit if a correct layout was used with enough space and good shielding. I can send you a PM of a complete amp and see from there if you want to try a build for yourself. My building prices are quite good, but building yourself doesn't always work out cheaper (depending on the quality components). But I am obsessed with these valve amps and can maybe look into a kit for you.

I think so? might be going there tomorrow to check some gear out i will hav another look.

I can just remember it had very minimal interface with just a few dials - one of them was a tremolo.

I tested both.
Not on the same day though.

I do not know what type of music the OP plays, but for my money (R5000.00) the TT wins hands down.
The TT is a great lil amp (it really is small) with a big oom filling sound.
Granted, i tested the head i a Mesa Boogie Thiele (sp?) 1X15 cab, and a Mesa 4X12 cab. It sounded glorious.
Made me forget (completely) that is is a 15watter.

The Ibanez (cute idea) left me cold.
It sounded like my old Blues Jr (with a wooly blanket over it) with a tuubskreemer in front of it.
I know it is a valve amp, but if feels more like a Marshall MG15, trying to be a Fender Deluxe Reverb. To me anyways.

My 5K would deff go to the lil TT.
