Ok so I've found a tiny terror head for R5000 and am wondering if its the right buy for me..

my thoughts are either the Orange TT or the Ibanez tsa15h. Any opinions?

I'm looking to spend max R7000 and thats for the head and cab or combo.

I really love the British overdrive tone and I barely ever use clean so the footswitch isnt to important to me..

what other brands offer decent 15watt tube amps?

    Have you tested both?
I would say that it depends on what guitar you are using! Other 15w british valve amps that comes to mind is the ac15??
Vox Night Train. Gets my vote over the Tiny Terror, easily. Haven't played the Ibanez so can't comment on that one.
I would not get the Ibanez ☹ The TT is a nice amp, but as mentioned the Vox nightrain is my preferance....

You guys back in SA should really go bug the hell out of Music Con and Marshall music to start bringing in Jet City Amps...... they are drop dead amazing, especially the Jet City 20 H
They are cheap, and reliable, and sound awsome, I know a few guys on GFSA who would love them....
My advice is dont chase brands, just for the sake of it. 15 watts is, IMO, a "personal" size amp, if you catch my drift

what about getting a locally built one by one of the the members, to YOUR spec. just the way you want it -

Speak to Benji - aka bottletone - craigamps@gmail.com for some direction

I had a tiny terror combo (with 12' Celestion) and now currently use a TSA 15.

The TT is a fantastci amp , depending on the style of music you want to play its the best there is and them 15 watts are turbo charged with the gain anywhere past 1.

i went for the tsa15 because its a lil more versatile tone wise. if i caould have both i would.

my advice play both .... some have mentioned the night train , another great option an more versatile than the orange imho. (Orange has only 1 channel)

go play em ... to my old ears the TSA 15 is a great all round amp although its does not do anything superbly
dont forget about the laneys... great amps with great tone and...
                great pricing
                  mesa trans atlantic

Wow, have prices gone down that they're under R7k for head and cab?
For your R7k you could easily grab a Vox Night Train + matching cab. Great amp, and has the British voice you're looking for.

There are some shootout vids of the TT vs the Night Train on YouTube.
                        oja! forgot about that! sorry.

This is very true, I have the laney VC-15 and im very happy with it tone-wise, just have to get it fixed :/ I'd definitely say give the Laney VC-30 in the classifieds a good look at. I had the marshall class 5 and the laney and preferred the laney even before the extra features the laney offers (A-B'd them with reverb off and with just the clean channel)
                            Can definitely +1 the Vox,

                            Ah, beautiful isn't it? ?
Blackhart handsome devil ? any one that stocks Crate amps should
be abel to hook you up, eats the TT alive and, the vox is a good amp
But I definitely prefer the Handsome Devil.. The combos were going for
                              6300 last I heard...
Hey guys sorry been busy yesterday but thanx for all the replies I still gota say the orange tone still seems to steal my win.. unfortunatly I live in Port Elizabeth and there are no places I can try amps like these so I'm kinda relying on reviews. I've head the dual terror, blackstar ht5 and transatlantic in person and still prefered the orange tone.. even in all the youtube reveiws I've seen.
Hi, you should also test a Fender Blues Junior. All tube little screamer. It is surprisingly loud for the spec, and the tone is glorious, if a bluesy tone is your bag. I picked one up for R6500 a month or two back.

If its what you want, get a TT man.
                                    Oranges are grate amps ?
I guess for R5000 theres no reason why not! maybe at a later stage I can a/b that and a ac15(or somthing clean) for live use. thanx for all the comments though!
