Hi folks!

I'm Tyron and I live in sunny Durban. I've just begun playing guitar again after many years of staring at the Yamaha CG-100A classical sitting in the corner of our lounge, wishing I knew how to play it "properly". So, I've enrolled in classical guitar lessons and I'm really enjoying them! I've got a great teacher who insists I learn to read music, which I find very interesting.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to hanging out here ?
Welcome. Good to see more Durbs guys.
If you're going to play classical, then you will have to learn to read. It's useful across all genres though.
      Welcome to the forum...

      Who is your teacher?
Thanks Pete and Donovan for the welcomes ?

@ Donovan, my teacher is Trevor Thomas. I love your blog by the way!
I went to Trevor for a bit. Good teacher.

I had to stop cos of family issues. Then I realised its not what I wanted to learn after that. Reading music is vital though

Where abouts in Durban you from? Always good having more Durbanites around! ?
@Donovan I'm enjoying learning to read music, it's something I never thought I'd get to do.

              Paul, I'm in Glenwood ?

                Hello
I'm classically trained to a fault (can't ever manage to hang loose or go with the flow or whatever it is pop/rockers do. My species got a broom up our, ahem...
To everyone out there; reading music is way easier than people think. Easier than reading the alphabet if you just go about the right way of learning it, so
KEEP IT UP and welcome to the forum.
Music is another language. You can learn to speak (play) it but learning to read and write is as important as reading or writing english (or whatever you speak)
