Amy Winehouse, the singer, has been found dead at her home at the age of 27.

Miss Winehouse, who came to fame with her debut album Frank in 2003, was found at her flat in north London this afternoon, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.

They say that they received a call at 4.05pm calling for help for a woman in Camden. Paramedics were called to the scene, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is "unexplained" but not thought to be suspicious, according to police. Sources have told the Sunday Mirror that an overdose of drink and drugs is the suspected cause of death.

Yes, there is actually a club called the '27 Club' where all epic artists who die at 27 get received into.

Yep when we heard the news today the 27 club came up , wierd indeed and if i recall wasn't marilyn monroe also 27 ? Interesting woman amy . I loved her style both on and off stage . She experienced and achieved more in her 27 yrs than most of us do in 75 yrs . Peace be with you amy ,

Ja look, the lady was a nutter hey. Lifestyle like that, sjeesh, bound to take it's toll sooner rather than later. I enjoy her music though.
So club 27 hey..... anybody here know how old Justin Bieber is now....

If it is true that it takes such a troubled soul to make such good music (plenty examples to suppport that theory), then it is good to see that there still are people willing to sacrifice life beyond 27 to leave us with their legacy. Wish she had made more records though - probably due to time wasted in rehab.

On Thursday night my dad said to me: "You know who's going to kill herself? That Amy Winehouse woman..." (we were talking about different musicians who had died from alcohol and/or drug abuse)

When I saw her in that concert in Serbia (on TV) a few weeks ago, I could not believe how far she was gone ...... I liked her voice .... Hendrix and some of the other members of the "27 club" went out on a high (know what I mean?) ...... she went out on a low ..... still sad. (Geez, that sounds awful, but true )
