Hi All
Firstly thanks to all who help with my queries on PA systems (kudos Alan).
More advice/thoughts required:
We have a 4 piece band and need a mixer and monitor solution. The mixer only needs channels for: 4 mics, miced guitar, miced bass, keyboard and drums(only 1 channel needed for the drums as they are electrictronic).
Now the problem is that small 8 - 10 channel mixers do not have enough AUX Pre Fader sends. Most only have 2 which means that only 2 seperate monitor mixers can be sent to the band.
We would like each member to have their own mix so we need 4 monitor mixes.
Any thoughts on how we can solve this?
PS. Looked at the SAMSON S-Monitor which looks really nifty.....any1 used these before
Neps
Unless you want to go the Allen&Heath way or anything big, a small mixer will do the job!! Dont worry too much about pre fade and pots fade, if your FOH guy knows what he is doing, gets his gain structure right, pre and post fade wont matter too much cause he'll almost never have to touch the faders during a gig.
You must have a look at the mackie mixers. cheapish, big sound, clean pre amps, and 4-6 auxes.
Another alternative is too mix monitors with busses. Thats a tad more difficult and you realy have to get your mixes right. But I usualy do that with the drummer (which is me). I sent a stereo signal to the headphone amp. Buss all the guits together to, buss thevoxes together and send those signals together with the FOH signal to each ones own input on th headphone amp. There I then can mix my own headphone mix, so that my click is still audable above the rest of the band.
