How weird is this,

I was going through some gumtree ads this morning and I saw this ad saying "Marshall 65w full valve amp R2500 neg."
So I take a closer look and looked at the pics that were posted, one had a model number on it: "VS5012" so I googled "Marshall VS5012" and get nothing. I then Went to google images and saw that exact amp with a "FAME" logo on it. Turns out this amp is not a Marshall but is actually made by FAME (who, btw, I've never heard of in my life).

I know this ads are pretty much personal and at own risk to the buyers but it's still false advertising!

here's the link http://tinyurl.com/6eoxjmk
yep i agree false advertising .but it does look awefully like a marshall with that layout and colour so maybe there's some room to believe there's an error by the seller...cos it's a marshall copy ..like people calling "epihone by Gibson" ........gibsons...cos it says gibson in ad's on the headstock too ........... but prob not ?

anyway regardless if you keen i would go check it out if you near by ...cos that is a 2 channel valve amp.....not sure if it's full valve..... ... and for 2.5K before negotiation it could be a cheap buy for a tube amp...........and plug it in and see how it sounds........ might be a "no name" gem

Heres the specs i found online:

Going for about 300 euros according to the website... So if you could get this amp for about R2000 it could be worth it, just the let the guy know that it's not a marshall and he would surely drop the price.. and in the pics the speakser looks like a Celestion? If I had the cash I would of have tried if for sure!!
I saw this as well, and was going to post something here along the lines of "is this too good to be true?"... Guess it was...

Look, that's a good price for an all-valve amp, but don't say Marshall if you're not completely sure. Marshall branding on their amps is also usually not exactly subtle, so you should be able to tell the difference.
It seems to me the pictures where taken in a way to obscure the brand, except on the speaker magnet. Deceptive.
If it doesn't say Kelloggs on the box.......

Looks like a real neat "home-made" "full valve" amp to me :-\

I agree with Keira though. It could be a no name gem.

Full 2 channel valve amp for R2k? Go check it out at least I reckon 8)
