Hi everyone

I am trying to find some information on Kiso Suzuki guitars but whatever i've found is very limited. I would just like to know if any of you have had any experience with any of these guitars, what you thought, and if you have any info regarding them. From what I've found they were made in the 1970's in Japan, and considered underrated. Would appreciate any info ?
    Hi Garth

Low to mid-price Japanese stuff, some of it quite nice. Similar to the Hondo and Aria guitars from the same time. Not all models were great, so you need to judge on an individual basis. Either way, not particularly valuable and unlikely to rise in value.

Are you looking at the acoustic on Cape Town Gumtree? Not wonderful - probably worth the R800 asking price, but unlikely to be better than an entry level acoustic.
Hi Alan Nope, thats not the one i'm looking at. I have attached some pics to this post that the seller sent to me. Its a Kiso Suzuki J200, a remake of the Gibson SJ200, and from what I've read it was probably made in the 70's. The current owner has also recently installed a dual mic pickup system in it. He's asking for R1800.
Ahh. I know those and they are good. R1800 is a good price - the pickup system is probably worth nearly that, as is the guitar. You don't find many J-200 copies anyway, so if you like it, go for it.

Not usually a problem with the J-200 styles as they are heavily built and braced, but just check that the top isn't bowing up that the neck is solid and the frets/neck are OK before buying.
Good stuff ? . Thanks for the info Alan. I LOVE the look of this baby. I'll keep you guys posted.
