I was at the "finished binding stage", with just the final-sanding to be done b4 staining (yeah, sorry neonG, staining, I had a plan in mind, and couldn't change it. . .)

Applying sanding sealer . . (a few times)
Sanding back down: . . (a few times)
After finally (thanks to Chemspec) finding my stain colour after a few(+) days (good ol' SA ???),
Testing the stain in various situations . . . . and more . . .

I did a number of tests with it; sanding-sealer/no sealer, sanding back the stain/ not sanding-back, etc. etc. Right, I was ready . . . .
Ready to ROCK . . . .!
