Pedals - your favorite selection please.

So after playing around with multi effects a little, reading up on all the advice etc as well I have decided to go the Direct to PA route with pedals and pedal board. I thought it would be a great idea to see what fellow GFSA members favorite pedals were in the following (and why if possible): 1) OD 2) Delay (not a looper) 3) Reverb 4) Volume pedal 5) Wah Pedal 6) Compressor 7) Distortion (possibly not really necessary for me) 8) EQ While this will be built up slowly I would appreciate suggestions that I can start the research and journey of discovery on.

They do deal directly with the public AFAIK.

Thx - will give them a call

Ok, went a slightly cheaper route on the Tech 21 Blonde after getting good reports on this:

Ordered the Blonde V2 with Balanced XLR DI Mod (with ground lift - no switch). The std line out will still work as well.

Just been notified that my Tech 21 Blonde has shipped - I must say that Mike Putnam has been a pleasure to deal with.

I seriously considered a Pod HD but the thing is I am not really into the whole "Patch" thing and also the HD500 is just too big for my needs (I will only really be using 3- 4 pedals). I would only really use a POD HD (or similar) by setting an Amp model and then setting up like a pedal board e.g. each footswitch having a preset pedal. Sadly this is not possible on a HD300.

I am now looking at whether I should maybe get a M9 and use with the Blonde and a volume pedal or just get all pedals.

Any comments, ideas?

I think you are too much of a tonehound to be happy with anything less than individual stomps, which let you mix and match a lot more. An M9 is nice if you need a toneful all-in-one solution or programmability, but doesn't offer the same flexibility or upgradeability a single pedals will.

However, I don't think you'll save that much space - a volume pedal, a Blonde and a couple of pedals (at least a tuner and an overdrive) and you're halfway there to the size of an HD already. Add in a power supply, delay and a modulation (let alone a wah) and you're there (I know you are - that describes my setup - sans Wah). Still a nice compact setup either way and one that translates from DIing to amp easily.

I just want to add... I got really tired of big boards and amps and crappy mics to mic up at gigs, and equipment damaging my car, so I tried the HD series stuff, asked some of my friends at Planetshakers how they found them and they were spoken out on how good it worked for them. The moment I sell my ac30 I am getting an HD500.

RoyC wrote Ok so I thought I would check it out and put myself on the waiting list for an Ethos TLE. No obligation to purchase until the price is confirmed and they are ready to ship. Received a reply this morning ... expected date to supply?.... May 2013!!!!! ? ? ? ? ? ?

I just got an e-mail letting me know that my Ethos will be ready for shipping in May 2012. I have a month to decide if I want it or not .....mmmm ?

Thx Alan, also in the forum Classifieds. Unfortunately due to the long wait for an Ethos, used prices are based on inflated e-bay prices for those who are impatient. ?
