I wonder if they are not THE most monstrous band in Metal today.

I thought Anthrax were ok.

Slayer were sub-par and looked tired.

Megadeth were not at their best especially Mustaine's vocals ??? Fair enough it hosed down while they were playing which can't be comfortable.

and Metallica ... well. Metallica were Metallica .. and CRUSHED them all ?

Try and find a copy of Megadeth Live at Hammerstein in '92 (I Think :-[) By far THE most ausum Megadeth show I've seen. Everyone was on fire. Marty Friedman is king. Mr Broderick has nothing on him 8), Mustaine was spitting out the vocals, Menza was beating the crap out of the skins and Ellefson was giving it major horns!!!

Ye Metallica were great. That is when Mustaine was writing and playing guitar for them

I never quite understood how Anthrax made the big 4 list. They always seemed the most underappreciated/unknown of the lot. Surely there was another band that could of taken their status

Haha good times! I remember we saw this show on the cinema, it was aired live. Only problem was Metallica overstayed their welcome ?

My girlfriend has it on BlueRay, worth watching I guess.

Personally I'm a Slayer man - if thats your kinda thing get "War at the Warfield" - awesome stuff, back in their hayday!

I watched it again last night...............Metallica have lost the sparkle, they just seem to be going through the motions. My favs were Megadeth and Anthrax.

Exodus, Kreator, Testament and Anthrax..........hell yeah.

The thing that attracts me to metal (one of the things) is the forward momentum. 4 bands who peaked in the 80s is still 'the big four'? Sheez.

Can I have a big 4 DVD consisting of ..let's see... Obscura, Blotted Science, Revocation and Scar Symmetry? Har har.

Good point - Those were 4 really great and successful bands, but there are some killer metal bands around now, many of them. Haven't heard of any of these 4 tho... :-[ Which to check out first?? ?
