arjunmenon Not into hunting per se..i've only done some pest control in the past (not in SA though). .300 ultra mag for stopping wild boar at close range (20 - 30 ft) and scaring bears away (also good for long range shots in wide open areas) . Nearest shops are roughly 200 kms away so plantation workers grow their own veggies and they were using homemade potato bombs that blow the boar's mouth off (poor thing ends up either bleeding to death, starving to death or becoming bear meal). And boars taste great (quite fatty though).
