hi ya all, yes on sun 5th june , yes this sunday i will do a solo instrumental show at rosebank rooftop market from 11-30 am to 3 pm ,
and yes i'm still performing my usual residency at sun city at 10 pm that same evening , so no rest for the wicked
there is NO COUVERT charge , it's A FREE SHOW (as far as i know...cos the market pays me )
what to expect ?
well even i don't know what will happen ? these market type shows end up being very impromtu and well like most of my shows will be mostly improvised......
i will only take the mimimum of gear , but hopefully used to great result
however the master plan is to just have fun with music, 8)
it will all be instrumental unless i bump into someone like kathy raven or auriol hays doing some shopping and twist their arm to come up and sing some jazz or blues but otherwise it's all instrumental and a mix of my original compositions /jazz standards/ and some popular tunes
i do everything in my unique style of playing multipart guitar( bass lines/chords /melody) and i do percussion at the same time...... it's too hard to explain if you never seen me do it , cos it's way beyond just a stomp box percussion wise.......
and as always NO BACKTRACKS OR LOOPS ARE USED ........ everything you hear is me playing each part simultaneously live ......
i have been introducing the electric into my show so it will be a mix of cool fender tones and vibrant nylon string guitar and of course the percussion
so basically it's a bit of a busk type gig , with everything live and i will just do my thing and hopefully create a vibe that is enjoyed by all
