So in my long and windy search for a small/ low wattage tube amp has come to an end!

Although I see I kind of went the other way on this one..... it is small in size but goddamn loud in output hehe Oh well F$@! the Neighbours is what i say!

check it out

It has a really glorious "organic" for lack of a better word, boutiquey clean sound not unlike a hiwatt which is my fav clean sound! 2 channels and a whole host of tonal features like edge, mid shift, boost on both channels and full spring tank reverb. it has a foot switchable series or parallel effects loop and a switch on the back to change between pure class A and class AB. Didnt know that was possible but.. cool!

It was just sitting there at music connection hiding under all the other amps, cant believe i didnt spot it before. It is such a rare find to see a VHT or Fryette Amp in South Africa.

Well I have'nt actually got it in person yet, I have a few extra monies to get together... - but i have paid a deposit, reserved it officially and will hopefull pick it up on the weekend.

REALLY sorry to gloat I am just very excited!!! ? :?

congrats , wow read the writeup it sounds awesome.......

and btw ? a 45W tube amp isn't a low wattage amp ......... wow i use a 10W valve onstage for jazz and it's almost too loud and a blues junior and ac15 are only 15W and the deluxe reverb is only 22W and loud and the ac30 well yes 30 W and we all know many rock out with the ac30 no probs so if your amp is 45W of valve amp it is louder than most medium sized pro amps in the valve market ........ ?

    awesome , enjoy

Hehe Ja trust me I know 45W is ridonkulously loud output! It was a complete impulse purchase - I was on a quest to get a Small like 5-15W amp for the very reason that my 50W head was too loud to jam on.

So i was in Music Connection and saw this out the corner of my eye and played like 2 chords and said, Ill take it. ? Even tho I don't have the cash for it at all, I will take it anyway. Lets worry about that later said I ! It just really has an outstandingly awesome 3 dimensional clean tone. and im not just saying as I test ALOT of amps searching for that kind of thing! ?

I have a 50W marshall plexi that I never really fell in love with like I thought I would, so this is prob gonna replace that and then the small amp search will continue in the future!!

I also found out that if I engage the effects loop, with no effects attached, There is a effects loop volume knob on the back panel and with the loop engaged on footswitch, that knob acts as an overall volume control and doestnt effect the tone too much, to my ears at least, and was able to get the amp at a very low playing volume...
Or am I doing a bad thing there?
