NGD - New family member, my 1st Hollowbody

Very chuffed with my new Gumtree find: An Aria TA-50 hollowbody. Got it over the weekend. In very good nick, a virtually new guitar. Still getting used to the chunkier neck, although not as chunky as a Gibson neck, but more so than Fender (which I'm used to playing). Sounds good, although I reckon I'll get new pickups when my next ship comes in... [br] [br] [br] [br] [br] [br] [br] [br] [br] [br] [br] [br]

Mr. Pendantic however says: "Semi-hollow, not hollow." Epiphone Casino and Gibson ES330 are true slim-line hollow bodies. The 335 design has a solid block down the middle that the pickups and bridge are mounted to. Less acoustic. Also less feedback.

This is something I've been wondering lately cause I'm currently gassing for a 335 copy and I was wondering about putting humbucker sized P90s because wouldn't the P90s tone be less of the smooth warm sound that u expect from a semi-hollow/hollowbody guitar? Im sure it'll still sound great though and im sure it will still be a hollowbody tone just not the same tone...what are your guys thoughts on it? PS Anyone wanna sell me one of these beauties? ?

Maybe you should take a look at the Tokai's, likew the ES135. Awesome, and at even more awesome price.....

I dont know, I think it will sound pretty cool. I always find Hollowbodies with humbucker pickups very muddy. esp if they are not of the best quality. I think the P90's would give it a nice clear defined and punchy tone. Think Epiphone Casino ?

Wish I could, but haven't tried the casino or the dot :/ The explanation of the muddiness definitely makes sense though, and im sure the P90's would be lower output than most/all humbuckers...sigh I should try those Rebel 90s, pity you have to buy to try :/

@Aubs Im looking for something cheapish hey +- 3500ish, but if i was going all out i'd definitely go for the tokai!
