The best thing Evo is to approach the Tree and see which root to take!

Awww, chin up Evo, I know how it feels. Seriously, I am in exactly the same situation as you. Well, one example.... this lady in question asked me to attend meeting at a school and asked me to explain my teaching method to interest them in lessons. During the meeting she said she didn't think it was the right thing for the school and said she had something else in mind, even though the school itself was showing interest. They contacted me (separately) afterwards for lessons and when I told the other lady she got upset and still wanted to take credit.
For her it was purely a publicity thing and she's managed to tag her name on to these lessons I teach, even though she's never even attended one. It's baffling how big some people's egos can be.
I took the passive aggressive route, stood my ground, I do my thing and she keeps out of my way as much as possible. Being ignored by her is sheer bliss. I still am preparing for the day I don't have to work with her, since she is so self destructive I know it will end sooner rather than later. I know you will do better than your "boss" if you go out on your own, that's already been proven. Some people mange to make their slowly unfolding disasters look like success, but there are often much better ways of doing things.

Hey man. Sorry to hear about your troubles. The only advice I can give is embedded on a Johnny Walker bottle...
...Keep walking.
Though you could also use the contents in the bottle...

FWIW, she sounds like a complete and utter wanker. Good luck, man. Hope it all works out.

That sucks man.
I was employed by a “lady” about 3 years ago. She had this whole air around her of being better than everyone. Needless to say she also lived in one of the wealthier estates in Pretoria. Smell the glove....
We had a good working relationship as our work entailed a lot of travel. Things went well for about a year but then the crap started. She’d accuse me of having a bad attitude but no matter how I approached it she never managed to tell me exact actions or instances that possibly pointed towards my apparent attitude problem.
This happened over and aver again and towards the end I really thought I was going insane as the accusations got so severe that I wasn’t sure if I was “completely there” at all times.
It all came to a head when she started grilling me over personal issues, for example the fact that I play guitar in a band, and that I enjoy playing video games. WTF? Really?
At the time it also struck me that, most people she had dealings with, had the interpersonal relationship end very badly. She obviously had a habit of reeling people in and then breaking them down if everything is not 100% the way she liked it. I saw that happen a couple of times.
I was planning to rather quit and take it on the nose. I just could not handle it anymore.
Fate had other plans as she ended up having to retrench me as the company was “struggling” (I was her only employee). After retrenching me I found out that my tax was never paid over to SARS, that my company perk medical aid was months in arrears (and I had to repay it to clear my credit record) and my through-company insurance (for a better rate) has never been paid, although deducted from my salary. And this from someone I at a time thought I had a good working relationship with.
Hell, I even checked the status of my insurance with her a month or so before the retrenchment, and she assured me that all was well and in order. >☹
I had the utmost respect for her before I was employed by her as I knew her for a couple of years prior. Not the case anymore.
Funny thing is, considering the amount of negative things she spewed in my direction, from work performance to personal preferences, at my current employer I've been commended for outstanding work performance beyond the call of duty 2 out of 3 years I've been here. And I'm the only one that's received that award in our department EVER....and we are 45 people.
So suck on that biatch!!!!!
Anyway, what I'm getting at is that, although situations seem bleak at times, when you get out of it hindsight always indicate that, in most cases, it wasnt worth the spilled beer.
Good luck dude.

I was employed by an irrational 'boss' for 3 years, his father set the company up for him. As anyone, I thought if I paid my dues and worked hard, I'd eventually be rewarded accordingly. So after boosting the turnover by 500% while he smoked weed in the office, without an inch of recognition, never mind better money, and constant irrational arguments about why, I struck out on my own. A year later he sank, 8 years later I'm still going strong. It takes a lot of dedication and discipline, but working your ass of in such a situation to make someone else rich is not cool.
