Well, it feels kind of anticlimactic. Everyone involved lost out of Al-Qaeda's idiotic actions. Thousands of Americans died. And tens of thousands of the people bin-Laden was allegedly "fighting for" died as a result of his organisation poking the US with a very sharp stick (really. He was a smart man. What did he think would happen? Did he learn nothing from Japan's example?). What a miserable waste of a human being. It just leaves me feeling sad all round.

If it's a fake story then it's easy enough for Bin Laden to burst Obama's bubble by releasing a fresh video of himself. All he'd have to do is mention a very recent baseball or soccer score, or react to something that Tony Blair has said or something and then it would be clear that he was alive when the events on which he commented happened.

So do you think Barack Obama understands that? And if he does then do you think he'd take a chance on having his reputation torn to shreds?
