Ok, I'm not the biggest Studio fan - although I've liked a few of them. But really. What's different about this one? How is it different to any of the others?

Spec wise it differs from other new studios by having the traditional 9 hole wight relief. All the other new Studio's have the cavaties.
It also has coil tapping function, not to sure how I feel about that.
Singe, you said you don't like the "studio's", do you like the "standards"? Isn't the only difference the binding?

I like the 50's tribute studios that came out with P90's. The tops were painted so it looks like they have binding, kinda like a PRS.

Yeah. I like an LP as traditional as possible. So the lack of binding kills it for me.
