My husband owns a Crafter J15 Acoustic jumbo guitar. I know nothing about guitars. I want to buy him a carry case for his Bday in two weeks as his is in pieces and been fixed a number of times! He told me a while back that there is no place in SA that sells hard shell carry cases for his size guitar [jumbo]
Can anyone help me as I would love to surprise him with a great unexpected gift this year!

Thanks

    Some questions
    1) Where do you live? This helps in recommending stores to you
    2) Do you want an original Crafter case or will any good quality case do?

We stay in Mpumalanga but Joburg isn't too far away so I'll be able to drive through!

I think any good quality case will! Are there places in Gauteng that sell original cases? Just dont want to buy something and then the guitar doesnt fit!
I just measured the guitar and it is 108cm long, 43cm at the widest part and 12cm thick. One of the guitar sales agents told me a standard jumbo will be too small for these measurements! Can anyone think of something that will fit? Preferably a hard shell case!

        Thanks
You need toi phone some of the stores. You could also order real good quality cases from over yonder but hell you going to pay. Why not call Tuerk music and ask them? I think they're Crafter agents maybe I'm wrong?

Anyway, now that you joined you cant go. They wont let you, you know. And you have to enter the monthly competitions and all. So you'd better start playing and practising.

You'd need to speak to the stores and they may want more measurements, but I don't think it's going to be that much of a problem. I just measured mine and the largest is 41cm and that's by no means exceptionally large, so I can't see getting a case being a major problem.

If push comes to shove you can get a flight case made here in SA. Google around for makers. It won't be pretty (well it might if you're into industrial chic) but it will offer very good protection and they can make a case to fit pretty much anything. I used to have a guitar called a "Smoothtalker" . That's an unusual shape and I could get a flight case made for that.

Ray's already suggested Tuerk, which sounds a good call. Other than that most of the good music stores in Jo'burg should be able to advise you.

Just be clear that you want a hard case and not a gig bag.
Wow!! You guys are awesome! Thank you so much! Cant wait to see the shocked expression on my husband's face when I give him this gift! I'll have to take a pic and post it online?

              Thanks so much!
