I jammed on one of these when I was checking out that Ibanez amp.

What a beauty...

You know how my taste runs....but she is damn fine.
The pups don't look traditional, or is it just me?
Nope, teles normally have a single coil and a lipstick pup.

This one was amazing. Also played very well.
Dunno about the lipstick? Two single coils?

Perhaps Don refers to the traditional skinny, encased Tele neck pickup.
Ooh - I like that - even the subtle differences like the knobs.
ya. although lipstick pups are also single coils, they're another thing completely..
Ive always wanted to try out one of the 'buckered Teles ?
It's pretty as hell. I'd love to put a humbucker in the bridge position on my tele but can't get my head around the ashtray issue...

Why not just put it in the neck? Or you can put a hot-rails type humbucker in there?

Don't you need to replace the neck on yours first anyway? ?

they make a stacked humbucker called a lil 59...(supposed to be a copy of gibson 59 les paul pup.they make the usual humbuckers but call the stacked one the "lil" 59) ) ... which fits tele's an strats with no mods ...... seymour duncan i believe makes em ......
yeah they seem like really nice guitars. Of course the first thing I would loose is the skirted knobs. Those suckers are fugly! Belong on an amp, not a guitar......LOL....what do they have an excess of those and they are trying to get rid of them?

I actually have been diggin' on the idea of getting the Blacktop Jaguar. At like $400 and change they are a great value.

I like this guy's plying also.

Stop trying to feed my GAS >☹

That said, I've suddenly got a serious eye on that Jag! If I can get my neck issues sorted out in the tele I might invest in a stacked HB... bridge position is most important for the sound I like...
They have these at Marshall in Tokai and Cape Town, Played one, quite nice, much like a Tele-shaped LP really. Nothing particularly special about it.
Actually tried one for the first time yesterday and was impressed. Have two strats and prefer Fender neck, scale-length and playability to LP style so was nice to pick something up that felt familiar but produced good heavey tones. This is definitely only to be purchased once I have a true twangy Tele in the stable though!

'Nuff said. I've played one at the Marshall in Retreat and dare i say they don't have the X factor that Teles have going for them.
Imagine a Les Paul with 3 single coils.
I've been having nasty thoughs about getting a black one and pimping it up.... Firstly, the knobs will have to make way for plain chrome ones instead. Then some GT style racing stripes in a dark gun-metal grey. Maybe even some smoked chrome hardware.... Not too serious about it at the moment, but a real probability if the opportunity presents itself ?
