Very extreme makeover

So I picked up this pawnshop special some time ago for a mere R200....
its a no-name brand cheapy with cheap hardware, but PERFECT for a project

And I thought I'd give it a new lease on life

But still, something was missing,,,,,,
So I put on some Mex Strat hardware, changed the neck for a Squier neck I picked up from Mr T,
a bit of extra paintwork handrawn and painted with acrylic, covered with a couple of coats of clear
and this is the result

Nice axe to hang up behind my bar,, plays surprisingly well and really nice action...
I may one day put some better pups in there
I know some of you would prefer pic No.1 ? but hey, as you may have noticed I'm a huge Simpsons fan ?

Another huge fan here. I was also a bit disappointed after pic 2, but then realised what you were going for. Very cool. Only suggestion: do you think the US flag really fits with the Simpsons theme? You don't think you could rather do a guard with a pic of Springfield with the nuclear power plant and all? (lots more work, I know ?).

But it's very cool. Like what you did. Love butt-naked Homer legging it ?

@singe - I had exactly that idea in mind (the Springfield nuclear power plant) I was actually going to do it on the back of the guitar,, but this was way too much work, so I took the easy route and chose something appropriate and I painted the USA flag on the pickguard instead.
I'll post some more pics of the drawings of the characters as it progressed. ? ?

or maybe even the big tyre fire on the scratch plate would have shown the guitar to be 'smoking'...

Its an awesome guit! I love the simpsons theme!
Personally, the springfield pic would be too busy, so the flag breaks it nicely and doesnt make it too over the top!
But one of my favourite guitars of yours!! ?

How about the old Transvaal flag of oom Paul ? C'mon Costa be brave...then you lend it to Norman to gig with in public ?
