I have written a book...

giggsy · 2011-04-18T12:27:49+00:00

It takes the form of a blog and will be published in real-time at www.iamsamward.com Without giving too much away, it’s the story of a guy who uses his blog to communicate with the outside world once an infection hits and confines him to his townhouse. If this interests you, or you know someone who may be interested in zombies etc, and would follow something like this, please let them know. Make friends with the character on Facebook, follow him on Twitter , add your email address on the site so that you get notified of new posts, and, if possible, help me out by spreading the word! And finally, just a word of thanks to our very own Donovan Banks for designing the site and putting up with my ineptitude when it comes to technology! Happy reading!

I was interviewed this morning by my local paper about my book/blog ? They've also done a nice write-up so long on their website - http://www.looklocal.co.za/looklocal/content/en/bedfordview-edenvale/bedfordview-edenvale-news-general?oid=4471465&sn=Detail&pid=217409&The-infected-walks-the-streets-of-Edenvale

Eventually got round to scanning the article which was in my local newspaper a few weeks back. And no sniggering at the back about the surname! >☹

Aah, that would be my older brother then - gifted family ?

I'm thoroughly enjoying the read, I never thought I'd get into zombies but the way you write is so easy to relate to. Plus having it come at you in stages is so suspenseful I love it.

Thanks Donovan :-[

Just ordered a series from eBay called The Walking Dead - seems that with the whole Twilight thing, zombies, vampires etc are now the latest craze.

Will do - he's now running pubs and restaurants in the UK. Yeah, Walking Dead comes highly recommended. And its got Norman Reedus in from Boondock Saints, so it must be good! ?

So my story has come to an end (in case you didnt read and you want to, it its still online, you can read it from the start here: www.iamsamward.com/2011/04/page/2/)

Was a load of fun and got great feedback not only from the guys on here, but also around the world - US troops, a brazillian chap and a bit of a local stalker - but it was all good!

So just wanted :goodtimes:to say thanks for reading :goodtimes:

Well done Giggsy :applause: :applause: :applause: I've greatly enjoyed the blog since your first post on GFSA ? However, what am I supposed to do now, without it? ?

Well done Giggsy! I really enjoyed the story but I wish it would continue ?

big ups giggsy. i takes a lot out of you to do this in the first place and - as a lot of us would know in a musical context - it takes even more (courage, chutzpah, guts, f-youness, etc) to put it out there and sit back and see what people think and accept their praise and criticism with equal grace.

good on yer mate

Norman86

i enjoyed it... but it seemed like it was ggoing slower! it would have been cool to have some kind of final showdown outside bloem or something!
Otherwise, nicely done!!! ?

giggsy

Thanks so much fella - really appreciate it!

Yeah Norman, I agree with you about the pace slowing down - the thing is that it was never meant to run as a real-time blog, I just wrote it as dates in a diary, so in the end when there was a few weeks stretch between 'posts', you would have been able to read it immediately in a book - I did tinker with it once it went up online but maybe not enough.

But yeah - really glad that people actually read the thing - it was sitting on my computer for two years, so just glad that I got it out there
