Alas ☹

I have a bit if a problem... It might be a bit difficult to explain. So i've prepared the following image.

Bask in my MS paint greatness. I don't know the correct terms for the parts. The comb is supposed to make contact with the gears around the pot, but it doesnt make proper contact anymore (it sometimes 'skips' a gear). I tried to fix it a bit yesterday by simply pushing the comb from the side. It worked for a short while, but was not a proper fix. Anyone else have this problem before? all in all I dont think it should be a difficult repair... it's either broken completely or it should be relatively easy... I haven't even unscrewed the bottom to try and get in there yet.

The other issue is - if I can fix the mechanical problem - how do I calibrate the pedal? for the short while that it did seem to work again after my fix, it seemed like the pot was stuck at the wrong part (let's say it's usual range is 0 to 100 - 0 being no treble, 100 full treble... it seemed to go from -50 to 10 or something...lol)

If all else fails, hey, I've been wanting to try out the vox for a while now ?
MY guess is that the comb is pressed agaisnt the gear with a spring of some sort that has become weaker. Pull the rocker off the pedal and then see exactly what it is. Then you can also reset the pot to the correct position.
Check out that gear as well. If teeth on either component are worn or missing then the mechanism will not work smoothly.

Any idea on how to remove the rocker? the only screws I could see were on the bottom panel... And how do I reset the pot?

I havent taken one off before. but you may have open the pedal up etc. Shouldnt be to hard though.

To reset the pot just turn it and get it to the correct range while the rocker is off, then put it back on and line up the gearing correctly.
Take the bottom off - there is a plastic loop that pushes the "comb" against the cog. There is a single screw that holds the loop in place - loosen this, move the loop so it presses firmly against the comb and tighten the screw.

            That's it!
