  • Epiphone lp with "Gibson" on the truss rod cover

As the title implies,last night I met a guy and checked out his epi lp, it looked legit, the serial is U04----,so its made in the Unsung factory and all,but,why would they put "Gibson" on the truss rod cover plate?that makes no sense!!!and its engraved and filled with white, confused...
    Epiphone is owned by Gibson and the Epiphone line of guitars are the budget line of Gibson. Almost all Epiphones have that Gibson trussrod cover, mine included.
      Okay, now that's dumb...I checked an epi lp '56 reissue the other day and it didn't say Gibson nowhere...man,if I got an epi lp I'd buy a new cover or get rid of it...it may be made by Gibson, but that don't mean its a GIBSON!!!

                  Well I actually heard some insane, off the charts crazy awesome tone last night from an Epi, so yea it's truly is down to the player, amp and pedals but most importantly, having a good ear. Needless to say, I love my Gibson and always will <3 ?

                      Maybe the original truss rod cover got lost and somebody had a "Gibson" part lying around and used that?

                          If I recall correctly it was the Epiphone LP-100 Les Paul series that came with the Gibson on the Cover because they were not "Standard" OR "Custom" or "Studio"... What the normal cover use to say!
