Meh! Sounds to me like one of those periodic attempts to present a pop song in folk clothing and claim that it's rootsy and authentic. See The Proclaimers, Dexy's Midnight Runners (circa "Too-ry-ay"), The Pogues...
If you want something with roots in English folk, well played, bought up to date etc then you'll do much better with Megson.
I'd heard great things about Mumford and songs, but this sounds rather too calculated for my liking. Like somebody tried a recipe that goes "1 part Hothouse Flowers, 1 part Pogues, slow it down a bit, dust with studio sheen to taste."
This particular track is definitely the radio friendly one. There's some really good, less obvious unit shifters on the album.
