This thread gives me a strong sense of deja vu... ?
It all boils down to there being occasional good and bad behaviour on both sides of the counter. I've been on both sides of the counter and had good and bad experiences on both sides. Sales staff are human, customers are human - so as with any a bit of tolerance on both sides goes a long way.
Having said that, ultimately, you are the customer and you have rights. If you do not get what you want/need from a sales person, move on to another next time. If you don't get the service you need - either tell the manager (who really
wants to know about unhappy customers) and get it sorted out once and for all or if you have the option, vote with your feet and shop elsewhere. If you don't have that luxury, then you have to sort out things.
BTW - Most sales staff are
not professionals - all are musos (with all
that entails) and there is usually a big staff turnover, which makes training difficult.

I buy and sell and service second hand instruments and it's because of the attitude of some of the sales guys at the music shops that I can keep going.
I know you, and to be fair... as a customer you can be a real pain in the behind sometimes and can take a bit of getting used to. ? I've seen lesser sales staff suddenly all "go on lunch" when you approach. ? I'm also pretty sure you wouldn't have it any other way... right?
